In addition to its coves with crystal clear waters and typical landscapes of the Mediterranean Sea, along its 160 kilometers from Blanes to Portbou, the Costa Brava becomes a real treasure that merges spectacular scenery with charming coastal towns.

The 7 most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava

In this article, we will take you on a journey through the most beautiful villages of the Costa Brava, where nature, architecture and gastronomy merge into one.

Begur

Surrounded by hills and with panoramic views of the Mediterranean, if we talk about one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava, Begur had to be at the top of our list. Its cobbled streets, old town and stunning beaches, such as Aiguablava, Sa Riera and Sa Tuna, make Begur a place to enjoy crystal clear waters and spectacular scenery.

If you want to enjoy incomparable panoramic views, you can not miss the medieval castle of Begur, located in the center of the village.

Pals

We will leave behind the crystal clear beaches of Begur to go into the interior of the Costa Brava and discover Pals, a picturesque village that will transport you to the Middle Ages with its cobbled streets, stone houses and walls very well-preserved.

The charm of Pals is not limited to its architecture. As you explore its charming streets, you will discover small craft stores offering unique local products, from traditional ceramics to textiles and gastronomic products.

Peratallada

Very close to Pals, we find Peratallada, another small medieval village where time seems to have stood still. With cobbled streets, well-preserved stone houses and an impressive wall, Peratallada is the perfect village for lovers of history and architecture.

Cadaqués

In the heart of the Natural Park of Cap de Creus is Cadaqués, one of the most charming villages of the Costa Brava and the most beautiful village for the famous painter Salvador Dalí, whose house and museum located in Portlligat can still be visited today.

Its cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses and the crystal clear waters of the small coves that surround the town, make Cadaqués offer the perfect combination of idyllic beaches and breathtaking mountain scenery.

Llafranc

Llafranc is a fishing village that has maintained its charm over the years. Its crystal clear waters, golden sandy beaches and the iconic lighthouse of San Sebastian are some of the wonders hidden in this coastal town on the Costa Brava.

Its picturesque old town, with cobblestone streets and pastel-colored houses that transport you to a world of authenticity and tranquility.

Calella de Palafrugell

With its hidden coves and white sandy beaches, Calella de Palafrugell is a paradise for lovers of the sea and tranquility. Taking a peaceful stroll along its charming promenade, enjoying the sea breeze and exploring its cobblestone streets are some of the amazing things to do in this seaside town.

In addition to all of the above, Calella de Palafrugell is known for its musical tradition of habaneras, where every first Saturday of July, the public gathers on the beach to enjoy the melodies of popular songs.

Tossa de Mar

We could not finish this article without talking about Tossa de Mar, and if you are passionate about history, culture and nature, this town will become your favorite. The old town of Tossa, known as Vila Vella, is a medieval jewel that rises above the sea and is surrounded by an impressive wall dating from the twelfth century.

The picturesque coastal scenery and the many opportunities for water sports, such as snorkeling and scuba diving, make Tossa de Mar a perfect destination for sea lovers.
